Philadelphia’s new favorite son has already begun recruiting stars to the City of Brotherly Love.
Less than 24 hours after it was reported that he’d join the Philadelphia Phillies, Bryce Harper reached out to star running back Le’Veon Bell via his Instagram story in an attempt to help reel him to Philly.
“Aye come join! Let’s take this city by storm. Bring as many titles as we can to the greatest city in the world. Brotherly Love. #SecureTheBag”
Bryce Harper said he wanted the longest deal he could get so he could recruit other players to the Phillies to win championships

The Eagles’ Lane Johnson, Malcolm Jenkins and Cre’Von LeBlanc have also tried to publicly recruit Bell. Roseman talked about pursuing top free agents during a press conference Wednesday.
“When you’re talking about the top guys, you’re bidding against 20-25 teams. At the step below, you’re bidding against five or six. It’s just hard to stay in that ballgame because we have a lot of players on long-term contracts that are making good money. It’s hard to be in a situation where we’re going to be the highest bidder for the top free agent.
“And that’s not really how we want to build a team. We want to give our own top players top-of-the-market deals and then look to free agency to kind of supplement that.”
After paying Brandon Graham on Friday, it’s going to be tough for the Eagles to pursue Bell and outbid teams like the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets, who both have over $100 million of cap space. According to overthecap.com, the Eagles have just over $6 million in cap space.
Roseman has been known to do crazier things, though.
The Bell watch is officially on!
