1. Closing Soon: Philadelphia Flower Show

When: Runs through Sunday, March 10th

The 2019 Philadelphia Flower Show will be coming to a close this Sunday. This will be your last chance to see these blossoming and flowing displays. This year’s theme: Wonders of Water, will captivate and mystify.

2. Closing Soon: East Passyunk Ave Restaurant Week 

Where:  Various locations
When: Runs through Friday, March 8th

East Passyunk Restaurant Avenue Week will be serving up sizzling dishes through Friday. These deals will feature three-course prix fixe lunch and/or dinner for $15, $25 or $35. More than twenty restaurants in the area will be buzzing with great deals and a booming crowd.

3. Women’s History Month Events

Women’s History Month Features several events, celebrations, discussions, entertainment, and panels discussing several nuanced topics orbiting women on a daily basis. This Friday The Logan will offer guests the ability to send custom flowers and notes to the special women in their lives. On the same day,  the Asian Arts Initiative will be hosting an International Womxn’sDay event.  Womynfest 2019 will be showcasing women’s art this Sunday and will have several creatives in attendance.

4. Philadelphia Fashion Week

Philly Fashion Week kicked into high gear a few days ago. Don’t miss out on all the phenomenal events that the clothing and design showcase has in store for the city. There will be dazzling runways, clothing displays, boutique popups, after parties, and more.

5. Philly Chef Conference

When: Runs through Monday, March 11th

Another series taking over the city is the 2019 Philly Chef Conference. Hosted by Drexel’s Center for Food and Hospitality Management, [T]he conference is an annual event designed to convene the regional food community and to showcase the latest food and beverage ideas”. In addition, CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge is excited to welcome Philly Chef Conference attendees with food and drink specials all weekend. Located down the street from Drexel’s Academic Building (where all of the Philly Chef Conference’s events will be hosted), CO-OP invites attendees to continue the conversation after the Opening Night Session on SundayMarch 10th, with extended drink specials at the bar. Guests can mix and mingle while enjoying discounted drafts, cocktails and wine all night. Additionally, all attendees will receive 20% off their bill (excluding alcohol) by presenting the CO-OP ad in the Chef Conference program (valid until March 31st).

6. Rent at the Merriam Theater

It’s time to was that abysmal FOX broadcast out of your memory. The Merriam Theater welcomes you to see this celebrated and storied Broadway musical this weekend. This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning masterpiece will be one of the best productions in the city over the next few days.

7. Giselle at the Academy of Music

When: Runs through Sunday, March 17th

Giselle is a beautifully fantastic ballet that shouldn’t be missed. The Academy of Music will be showcasing this outstanding piece through next week. Come see the stellar artistry and be swept away by Angel Corella’s restaging of the story. This exquisite tale of darkness and love should not be missed.

8. BalletX Spring Series 

Where: The Wilma Theater, 265 South Broad St.
When: Runs through Sunday, March 17th

BalletX offers up some fantastic movement and choreography that’s truly out of this world. Choreographers Lil Buck, Nicolo Fonte, Katarzyna Skarpetowskan will be cultivating a lineup full of premieres. Come to one of the most anticipated performance series in the city each year. Come see Lil Buck’s – “Express” gets its East Coast premiere.

9. Kate The Unexamined Life at Walnut Street Theatre

The Walnut Street Theatre welcomes the poignant life of Katharine Hepburn to the stage through April. Kate The Unexamined Life, takes you to New Year’s Eve 1999. Hepburn is 92 and ponderings all the facets of life.

10. AAMP Weekend

Where: The African American Museum in Philadelphia, 701 Arch St.
When: Friday, March 8th-Sunday, March 10th

The AAMP welcomes three exhibitions to its fantastic halls this weekend Baye Fall: Roots in Spirituality, Fashion and Resistance and The Sacred Star of Isis and Other Stories, and AAMP on Paper: Selections from the Permanent Collection) highlights a selection of works from the museum’s collection. There will be opening festivities this Friday. This Sunday is also Macy’s Family Funday Sunday. The first 250 people to enter the museum will get in free.

11. Welcome the Stranger at the National Liberty Museum

Where: National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut St.
When:  Runs through Sunday, June 9th

Welcome the Stranger comes to the National Liberty Museum this weekend. This phenomenal display is a wonderous “one-woman exhibit of cast glass, ceramics, and mixed media” by Micaela Amateau AmatoThere will an opening reception this Friday, March 8th starting at 6 pm.

12. The Bechdel Test Fest

The Bechdel Test Fest (BTF Philly) is an annual festival celebrating marginalized identities in comedy. The Philadelphia innovation features sketch comedy, improv, standup, burlesque, and several other performances.

13. MilkGirl Weekend 

Where: MilkBoy South Street, 401 South St
When: Events runs through Friday, March 15th

In celebration of National Women’s History Month, MilkBoy is going all out and will become MilkGirl from March 4 to March 15. This honorary and celebratory festival will feature stand up comics and will showcase the best in female-driven arts, music, and culture. Don’t miss out on any of these blazing events.

14. Michelle Wolfe

Where: Punch Line Philly, 33 E. Laurel St.
When: Runs through Saturday, March 9th

Hershey, PA comedian Michelle Wolfe will be taking over the Punch Line Philly stage all weekend. The on-air contributor and writer for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will be doing a four-night residency at the comedy club. Come out for some of the best laughs in the city.

15. PECO Second Saturdays: March Printmaking Workshop

PECO Second Saturdays at Second State Press is a free public program that allows families and students to come together and learn about printmaking. This hands-on and creative class helps families make everything from zines to collages.

16. 2019 Philadelphia Travel & Adventure Show

17. Pacers vs. 76ers

When: Saturday, March 9th, 3:30PM

The Philadelphia 76ers will be taking on the Indiana Pacers this Saturday afternoon. This will hopefully mark the return of NBA All-Star big man Joel Embiid. This will be a pivotal game as the Sixers look to surpass the Pacers in the Eastern Conference standings.

18. James Bay

James Bay

UK singer-songwriter and rocker James Bay will be performing at The Met Philadelphia this Saturday night. The Grammy nominee released his second studio album last year titled Electric Light last yearCome enjoy this phenomenal talent as he sings a variety of hits to his fans.

19. Dan + Shay 

Dan + Shay The Tour

Where: The Fillmore Philadelphia, 29 E. Allen St.
When: Saturday, March 9th, 7:30PM

American Country music duo Dan + Shay’s released their self-titled third studio album in June. They recently won a Grammy this year for “Best Country Duo Group Performance.” Country music fans come to the Fillmore Philadelphia this Saturday night.

20. The BIG Exhibit

Where: Philly Art Collective, 253 N. 3rd St.
When: Saturday, March 9th, 6PM-9PM

On the anniversary of Notorious B.I.G’s death, this exhibit features over 30 visual artists present work dedicated to the Notorious B.I.G. Get there early and get a free print and more giveaways. There will be free wine, live music, and more.

21. Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade

When:  Sunday, March 10th, 11:15AM-3PM

This Sunday is Philadelphia’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It first took over the city in 1971 and has been a great annual tradition since. Come out for the traditional bagpipes, the costumes, the cuisine, and stunning sight of a cultural atmosphere. Celebrate the Luck of the Irish with a St. Patrick’s Day Parade with local dance groups, musicians, and more.
