3. Closing Soon: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Where: Walnut Street Theatre, 825 Walnut St.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a 2003 mystery novel by British writer Mark Haddon. Closing this week, Walnut Street Theatre has been bringing this work to life like no other. The stellar production has previously won Best Play at the Tony Awards.

4. Phillies Weekend
Where: Citizens Bank Park, 1 Citizens Bank Way

The Philadelphia Phillies will be taking on the Florida Marlins in a nine-day home stretch. Fans head on down to Citizens Bank Park this weekend to cheer Harper, Hoskins, and company in this NL East showdown. There’s no place to be to enjoy these next few days of sun than at the ballpark.

5. Philadelphia Science Festival

Philadelphia Science Festival is set for takeoff this week! There will be several thrilling, informative, and exciting events for every age group in the city. Be ready to be educated and entertained at various institutions and structures in the city. This Friday there Citywide Star Parties which include astronomers leading free star gazing crowds throughout various spots in the city. Come to the Rail Park with your family for a bubbly surprise. Another highlight of the weekend is the Fishtown Science Crawl this Sunday. The 21+ crowd can enjoy drink and food specials at many locations in the area.

6. Penn Relays

The 2019 Penn Relays are this weekend. The oldest track and field competition in the country will be the main attraction of a busy weekend in the city. Athletes from around the world from every level of track & field will be battling it out tat this prestigious sporting event. Bring your entire family out to see these vigorous trials of athleticism and sportsmanship.

7. Parks on Tap
Where: Azalea Garden, Between Boathouse Row and the Philadelphia Museum of Art

This nomadic beer garden and food truck oasis is back and better than ever. A partnership with the Philadelphia Parks Association and the Fairmount Park Conservancy, Parks on Tap traveling beer garden will span several parks through the season. The locations will feature hammocks, beer, wine, bike shares at some locations, food, family-friendly programming, and dogs are welcome. The hours are Wed & Thurs: 5 pm-10 pm, Fri: 4 pm-11 pm, Sat: 1 pm-11 pm, and Sun: 12 pm-10 pm.

8. BODYTRAFFIC
Where: Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 3680 Walnut St.

Los Angeles-based BODYTRAFFIC will be performing a program full of Philadelphia through this weekend. The troupe beautifully blends contemporary, hip hop, jazz, and ballet. Come see this great display of rhythm, movement, and talent.

9. La bohème at the Academy of Music

Speaking of talent, come to the Academy of Music to see this towering revival of Puccini’s masterwork. This production of La bohème is highlighted by “sets and costumes inspired and enlivened by Impressionist masterpieces from the Barnes Foundation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.” This will be a show you don’t want to miss.

10. Philadelphia Antiques and Art Show

12. Brick Fest Live
Where: The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave.

Friends and family will be packing into Brick Fest Live this weekend to partake in this spectacular LEGO-themed event. The Brick Fest Live LEGO Fan Experience will have many hands-on attractions including a LEGO glow gallery, a racetrack speedway, video game arena, minigolf, and more. The event wants to set the Guinness World-Record for sized LEGO mystery floor mosaic.

13. Art is Life Festival

Arts lovers and creatives come on out to Roxborough this weekend for the Art Is Life Festival. There will be three main music stages, pop up shops, a multitude of vendors, food, drinks, and more. 14. Go West Craft Fest

17. El Carnaval de Puebla
Where: Parade travels east on Washington Ave. to 5th St. The Festival is at Sacks Playground, 400 Washington Ave.

This year’s El Carnaval de Puebla will be taking over the streets this Sunday! The festival usually draws thousands into the streets of Philadelphia is a celebration of the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. There will be plenty of bearded masks, Mexican food trucks, live Latin bands, beaded capes, headdresses, and other costumes at this lively and festive cultural holiday.

18. Flavors on the Avenue

19. Fairmount Avenue Arts Crawl

Another free to enter event this weekend is the Fairmount Avenue Arts Crawl. Thousands come out each year to peruse the dozens of exhibitors on the avenue.
