2. Closing Soon: Terror Behind the Walls

The Eastern State Penitentiary has been doing thrilling and terror-filled tours for the entire season. The former high-profile prison had many frightening attractions coming from the cellblocks each week. Bring your family and friends out to this horrifying institution that will be filled with thunderous sounds, shocking moments, and more before its too late.

3. Closing Soon: Pumpkinland
Where: Linvilla Orchards | 137 West Knowlton Rd | Media, PA
When: Through Sunday, November 10
Hoodie and pumpkin spiced latte season will be turning into winter coats and fuzzy hats time very soon. This means Linvilla Orchards’ Pumpkinland will be ending its run weekend. The family tradition of the Delaware Valley has featured live music, hayrides, corn mazes, a jack-o-lantern exhibit, and so much more for over a month.

4. Winter at Dilworth Park
Where: Dilworth Park | 1 S 15th St
When: Friday, November 8 – Sunday, February 23
Center City Parks District opens the Dilworth Park Wintergarden, Rothman Institute Ice Rink, and Rothman Cabin this week. The rink is one of the memorable structures that perches next to City Hall during the wintry months. After skating with your friends and family be sure to stop by the Rothman Cabin for holiday-themed brews, small bites, and warm beverages. The opening two-day festivities and celebrations (Friday and Saturday) feature ice sculptures, entertainment, skating, snacks, and more.

5. Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival

When: Runs through Sunday, November 17
The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival kicks off this week. The inclusive and celebratory film festival has been a big-ticket in the city since its creation in 2008. The festival will include movie screenings, discussions, awards, and more. Don’t miss your chance to see some phenomenal works displaying the Asian experience on the big screen

6. Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show
Where: Pennsylvania Convention Center | 1101 Arch St
When: Runs through Sunday, November 10
The 43rd Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show will bring 195 artists from the United States and 22 guest artists from Israel into the doors of the Pennsylvania Convention Center for three days. This contemporary craft show, will wow you with the collection of crafts and intricate pieces on display.

7. CraftNOW Weekend Events

CraftNOW Philadelphia will continue to showcase some of the best artisans in the city through the end of the month. This weekend, there will be a CraftNOW Symposium PAFA. The panel provides a platform for critical discourse in contemporary craft. CraftNOW Create will be this Saturday. Enjoy a free full day of hands-on exploration and take-home activities hosted at the Kimmel Center. Stop by The Fabric Workshop and Museum on the same day for an Indian block-printing workshop.

8. Holiday Showcase at Reading Terminal Market

9. World Premieres at the Merriam Theater

11. POPS Rocks Abbey Road at the Kimmel Center

12. Nikki Glaser

Punch Line Philly will be the place to be for all the laughs this weekend. Nikki Glaser, a Comedy Central stand up veteran, will be performing for three nights at the popular comedy venue. 13. Steely Dan

Steely Dan has two shows lined up for this weekend. Saturday’s concert is sold out but fans do not fret. The show on Friday night still has tickets available. 14. The New Pornographers

16. Love Your Park Fall Service Day 2019

Love Your Park is a fantastic endeavor created by the city of Philadelphia. Every park in the city will be hosting diverse events geared towards beautification and cleaning certain green areas. Some locations will have breakfast and brunch for volunteers and activities afterward. Your Park Fall Service Day is free, but registration is mandatory.

17. Family Fun Day at the AAMP

18. 2nd Saturday Street Art Tours

Every second Saturday, Streets Dept’s Conrad Benner, will be hosting a walking tour of Philadelphia’s most stunning street art, murals, and graffiti. This will be an immersive and informative tour full of colorful designs and great conversation.

19. Moby-Dick Reading at the Independence Seaport Museum
Where: Independence Seaport Museum | 211 S Christopher Columbus Blvd
When: Saturday, November 9 – Sunday, November 10
The Independence Seaport Museum and The Rosenbach have teamed up for literature filled this two-day event. Herman Melville’s celebrated nautical tale Moby-Dick will be read aloud over a 25-hour time period. There will also be crafts, an artifacts display, activities, and more.

20. Veterans Day Weekend Museum Events

When: Runs through Monday, November 11
The National Constitution Center and the Museum of the American Revolution will be having special Veterans Day events throughout the entire weekend. There will be flag-raising ceremonies, free admissions to the museum, wreath-laying ceremonies, Veteran discussions and more. The Independence Seaport Museum will also be hosting a Veterans Day service to commemorate the holiday as well.

21. Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival

The 38th Annual Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival kicks off this Saturday. The cultural film celebration will be holding special screenings and panel discussions. There will be 35 films in total from over 20 countries around the world. Come and see shorts, documentaries, long features, and others.

22. 2019 Philly Fall Crawl

The Philly Fall Crawl will have several restaurants and bars participating in food and drink festivities this weekend. Take your custom cup and map to any of the locations for drink specials and more. Crawlers will be rummaging through several Center City bars for this annual fall event that had 1,000 participants last year.

26. 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s

This Saturday is the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The annual walk for a great cause will have a special ceremony before the walk. The event raises awareness of the disease and funding for research and care. Be sure to come out to register, take part in the walk, or donate on the website.
