Merrill Reese, Spanish calls from big Eagles win

The Eagles escaped Santa Clara with their first win of the season last night, and now are all alone in first place in the NFC East.

That’s because the Washington Football Team and the New York Giants are, well, the Washington Football Team and the New York Giants. We’re going to have to figure out a term for the Dallas Cowboys, because their defense is on its way to becoming one of the worst in National Football League history.

But, alas, Sunday night’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers wasn’t perfect, but it was sorely needed and the Eagles had a few big plays in them. Travis Fulgham had what has to be the catch of the year so far for the Birds, and Alex Singleton followed it up with an interception (Birds had two!!!) return for a touchdown.

Take it away, Merrill:

Of course, let’s get that Spanish call on Fulgham’s touchdown via Rickie Ricardo:

1-2-1 never felt so good. And probably never will again.
