Howie Roseman is bolstering the Philadelphia Eagles secondary with a local native returning to his hometown.

Kevin Byard will join the Eagles in a trade with the Tennessee Titans, the team announced. In exchange for Byard, the Titans will receive safety Terrell Edmunds along with 2024 fifth and sixth round draft picks.

Byard voiced his gratitude to the Titans on social media Monday.

The 30-year-old recorded 120 appearances over eight seasons with the Titans, totaling 27 interceptions, 63 defended passes and 674 tackles. Byard is one of two NFL players (Jordan Poyer) since 2017 to have totaled 600+ tackles and 20+ interceptions.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection and a two-time First-Team All-Pro, Byard excelled at Middle Tennessee State University, where his No. 20 jersey is retired.

He was a third-round selection by the Titans in 2016 and has been one of the premier safeties in the NFL over this time.

A move to the Eagles pairs Byard with fellow Middle Tennessee safety Reed Blankenship.

The Eagles are coming off a 31-14 Sunday Night Football win over the Miami Dolphins, moving them to 6-1 on the season.
