Brandon Marsh delivers first Phillies homer of 2024 MLB season

Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, and Kyle Schwarber are just a few of the heavy hitters in the Philadelphia Phillies’ lineup for 2024, but it was Brandon Marsh who got the fun started in Friday’s rescheduled season opener.

Marsh delivered the first home run of the new season for Rob Thomson’s squad at Citizens Bank Park, taking Atlanta Braves starter Spencer Strider deep to centerfield. The versatile center fielder drilled a Strider pitch to straight-away center to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead over their visiting N.L. East rivals.

It marked Marsh’s 26th-career home run and his 16th in Phillies colors.

After missing most of the spring training schedule, Marsh returned down the stretch to reclaim his starting centerfield spot.
