Philadelphia fans are the worst. They’re scumbags. They’re trash. That’s all that we always hear from the national media and fans from other cities. But if we’re scumbags, what does that make the fans of the Cinicinatti Bengals?
Last night Ben Roethlisberger was carted off the field in the third quarter of Saturday’s AFC Wild Card Game against the Bengals. Funny thing happened while getting carted off the field though. Bengals’ fans threw beer cans and trash at Ben Roethlisberger.

Those fans are real classy, huh? I’m sure that we’ll hear all about how trashy they are today on all news programming. Yeah right. I won’t hold my breath.
Here’s a little secret though. Those fans aren’t the only trash in that city. A Cincinnati radio station issued a citywide Big Ben rape warning prior to last night’s game. While I definitely don’t condone Roethliseberger’s past behavior in any shape, form or fashion, I think this stunt is a little too much.

Obviously the Philly fan narrative is tired bullshit, but saying Bengals fans (like they’re all one collective entity) are the worst in football because of the actions of a few idiots at the game and some crass radio bit is just as lame as when people talk about throwing snowballs at Santa. As Philadelphians we should appreciate more than anyone how whack it is to disparage a whole city based on the bad apples that act dumb during boozy, emotional football games. That happens in literally every city, and we should call out the media for signaling us out but not suggest they give that unfair spin to another town…

I 100% agree with you. That’s what I was going for. It sounds insane to label one whole fan base as wackos because of the unfortunate incidents with a few morons. Yet it continuously happens to Philadelphia and will continue to. So I push back with some sarcasm until people realize how ridiculous it sounds to blanket label a whole group because of a few ignorant people. Thanks for taking the time and reading this.
