Philadelphia 76ers center Nerlens Noel will have minor knee surgery in the coming days to address an inflamed plica above his left knee.
The procedure will take about 10 minutes. Noel started to feel soreness in his knee while being treated for a left hip strain, which has kept him out of action since Oct. 6.
Here’s what the team website reported about the injury.
During the normal course of evaluation and treatment for his left adductor strain, which was identified on October 6, Noel reported localized soreness in his left knee. After consulting with multiple specialists, the source of the soreness was identified as inflamed plica. Noel has elected to address the injury via a minor surgical procedure in the coming days.
Noel averaged 11.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks last season.
