Could a reunion between LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin be brewing in Buffalo?
It definitely makes sense!
The ex-Philadelphia Eagles and current Bills running back explained to ESPN reporter Mike Rodak at a softball charity event in Rochester “don’t be surprised” if the Bills sign Maclin. The blurb from ESPN can be seen below.
LeSean McCoy, speaking Sunday at his charity softball game in Rochester, N.Y., says he has been recruiting WR Jeremy Maclin to come to the Bills and adds, “don’t be surprised if it happens.” McCoy says he doesn’t have inside information but has spoken with Maclin, his former teammate with the Eagles.
Buffalo lost Robert Woods to free agency this offseason and second-round rookie Zay Jones is currently slotted as the second starting wide receiver along with Sammy Watkins. The Bills also have Andre Holmes and Philly Brown on the roster, it’s certainly not a deep group.
Maclin’s services would be an upgrade at the position.
Maclin, of course, was surprisingly released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday just two years after signing a five-year, $55 million contract with the team. The Missouri product registered just 536 yards last season while dealing with nagging groin injuries all year and playing in 12 games. This was after posting back-to-back 1,000-plus yard campaigns.
