2. Center City Restaurant Week Continues

3. Terror Behind the Walls

The Eastern State Penitentiary opens its doors each Halloween season for some thrilling and terror-filled tours. 4. Fall Fest at Spruce Street Harbor Park

Spruce Street Harbor Park will be hosting their Fall Fest this Friday through Sunday. There will be live music and entertainment, games, and more. There will be specialty Fall beers, a farmers market, cider pressing, pumpkin carving, face painting, and tons more.

5. Philadelphia Orchestra’s Opening Season
Where: Verizon Hall | 300 S. Broad St.
When: Season opens Wednesday, September 18
Lovers of music rejoice! The Philadelphia Orchestra returned for its new season this week! After a jaw-dropping opening night starring Audra McDonald and led by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the best is yet to come. This weekend’s program includes Umoja, a world premiere commission by American composer Valerie Coleman and Dvořák’s New World Symphony. Also, launching this season is the free ticket program for employees for the School District of Philadelphia. APPLE (Appreciation Program for PhilaSD Leaders in Education) offers School District employees free general admission tickets to concerts throughout the 2019–20 season. The Philadelphia Orchestra’s twelfth annual Free College Concert is also coming up on Thursday, October 3. Tickets for the event, which kicks off the 2019–20 season of the eZseatU student ticket program, are available to all full-time college students in the Greater Philadelphia.

6. Festival O19

Festival O19 begins this week. Presented by Opera Philadelphia, several groundbreaking opera performances will come to life in many locations throughout the city as. The Love for Three Oranges will be front and center on the Academy of Music stage. Semele will be at the Perelman Theater, Denis & Katya will take the stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, and more. 7. Fashion District Philadelphia

Formerly the Gallery Market East, the Philadelphia Fashion District finally opens its doors to the public this week. Well-known brands, distributors, and retailers like Nike, Ulta, ASICS, Levi’s Outlet Store, ASICS, Guess Factory Store, Pandora, and others will have the district booming.

8. City Winery Opening
Where: City Winery Philadelphia | 990 Filbert St
When: Opens Thursday, September 19
City Winery Philadelphia also offers a unique combination of wine and concertgoers experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the city. The brand new location includes two performance venues; a 300-seat intimate concert hall and a smaller 150-capacity loft space. The 150-seat restaurant will serve locally sourced dishes crafted by Executive Chef, Jason Heim, and house-made wines, crafted with grapes carefully sourced from acclaimed vineyards on the West Coast. 11. 13th Annual Black Women’s Arts Festival

13. 5th Annual South Philly SausageFest

Another seasonal celebration is the 5th Annual South Philly Sausage Fest. The yearly craft beer party continues to liven up the Newbold and West Passyunk neighborhood of the city. 14. Eagles Fantennial Festival

The 1st Annual Eagles Fantennial Festival is this Saturday at Cherry Street Pier. The celebration, heralding 100 years of NFL football, will feature Eagles legends, craft beers, and food. The burgeoning of Autumn brings many things. Whether you’re switching up your wardrobe or coffee flavors, fall cultivates a new routine in many areas.
