2. LGBT History Month

When: Runs through Thursday, October 31st
October is LGBT History Month across the country. Philadelphia will be hosting several events over the next few weeks. This weekend, head to The Rosenbach for a special reading of Moby Dick-The Queerest Book You’ve Ever Read and cocktails this Friday. Aids Fund Philly will be hosting a GayBINGO event this Saturday. The Hocus Pocus-themed event will feature musical numbers, hilarious drag queen antics, fabulous prizes, and more.

3. Philadelphia Open Studio Tours

When: Runs through Sunday, October 20
Each year several participating studios in the city open their doors and give the public a glimpse into their halls. Open Studio Tour allows many curious souls and art lovers to peruse creators in their habitat. You’ll be able to see them in their spaces painting, sculpting, sketching, and more. Finished work and gallery pieces will also be on display.

4. Rittenhouse Square Fine Craft Fair
Where: Rittenhouse Square | 18th St & Walnut St

The Rittenhouse Square Fine Craft Fair will be taking over this weekend. The rotating outdoor art collective will be one of the most collaborative events in the city. Come see all the tremendously gifted artists as they display their work across several mediums.

5. House of Vans

Vans will be hosting a skate, music, arts, an entertainment blowout this week. There will be several fun events popping up all over the city for free. 9. Don Quixote at the Academy of Music

16. FLOW at Independence Seaport Museum
Where: Independence Seaport Museum | 211 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd

Head over to the Independence Seaport Museum for Flow. The institution is excited to present this amazing collaboration with local sculptors. The exhibit features imaginative floating art installations and creative pieces made “from plastic water jugs, bamboo poles, living plants, and other exotic materials, some rescued from the banks of the Delaware River”.

17. Indigenous Peoples’ Weekend

The Museum of the American Revolution will be celebrating Indigenous People Weekend for the next few days. Come hear about the of the Oneida Indian Nation brought and its people, brought to life through discussions and arts. Penn Treaty Park will be hosting a day that honors the Lenape Tribe. Bartram’s Garden will be celebrating as well this Monday for its 9th annual festival.

18. Black Magic

The Philadelphia Photo Arts Gallery, in conjunction with Icebox Project Space and New York Live Arts presents interdisciplinary artist Rashaad Newsome’s multipart project, Black Magic. Black Magic is a holistic reflection on agency, Blackness, and the futurity of intersectional identities and oppression. This immersive exhibit will be open through next month.

26. Sippin’ By The River
