Did y’all know Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon had a bitter rivalry in 1999? Well, if you didn’t, the 1999 Royal Rumble will certainly get you up to date quickly on everything regarding this feud.
The 1999 Royal Rumble was really a two-match show: Mankind defending the WWF Championship against The Rock in an “I Quit” Match, and Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon drawing numbers 1 and 2, respectively, in the Royal Rumble match itself. Make no mistake about it – nobody else in the match mattered one iota on this night, and we’re diving deep into it.
Side note: Is Chyna the first woman to ever win a Royal Rumble match? If WWE’s going to claim certain Royal Rumble events are part of the lineage then they should claim more of them are. Listen to find out what we’re talking about.
