We are now two days away from the arrival of another future hope for Sixers basketball, but will this year’s pick actually play? Sam Hinkie can’t catch a break lately with the setback suffered by Joel Embiid (Keith Pompey doesn’t know if JoJo will be ready for opening night, late OCT.) and on Monday it was announced that Dario Saric will be staying overseas next season, not suiting up for the Sixers. PHILLIES WIN! Nope, not playing! Phillies won last night 11-8 vs. the Yankees. Only player worth highlighting is Maikel Franco who went 4-5 with 2 home runs in last nights victory. As Charlie says, “Its hittin season.” (Philly.com)
Hey ladies! Team USA moves on with a 2-0 victory, in their first knockout round game on Monday night. Looking good but still not crisp enough for my liking. No messing around, its win or go home now! (Huff Post)
Sean “Diddy” Combs, formally know as Puffy, is definitely sticking true to his Bad Boy 4 Life lyric. The rap artist was arrested Monday by UCLA campus police after allegedly attacking one of the UCLA coaches with a kettle ball. Diddy is being charged with a felony and his bail has been set at $50,000. Diddy’s one of those Dads that thinks his son can play all 11 positions. (LA Times)
Andy Benoit (writer from MMQB, P.Kings Blog) made a fool of himself on Monday as he tweeted out that “women sports aren’t worth watching,” right before the U.S.A. Women’s World Cup team were about to take on Colombia (which they won). Benoit then went on to pull the cowardly move of deleting his tweets. If you say it, own it. (But think before you hit send bud.) (The Big Lead)
The Lakers could easily change the entire landscape of the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday if they were to use their No. 2 pick on someone like D’Angelo Russell and they were able to land DeMarcus Cousins. According to ESPN, the Lakers are “actively” trying to land Cousins, although Sacramento has said they won’t be trading their big man. Either way, Thursday will be fun. (ESPN)
Tom Brady’s appeal is set for Tuesday so to prepare for you all the media fun, here’s Cam Newton taking a shot at Mr. Brady himself. (Sporting News)
