Mac and Mac Will Return to WIP Next Week, but Josh Innes Isn’t Going Anywhere

Last night, Glen Macnow sent out this Tweet, saying he would be hosting all next week with a familiar face. And that got the ball rolling for people wanting to believe Josh Innes was ultimately finished at WIP after Tony Bruno walked away from their ratings smash-hit afternoon show.

From what I’m told, Macnow was alluding to rejoining his old partner, Jody McDonald, on the 1-6 P.M. shift while Innes takes a previously scheduled vacation. The vacation comes at a good time for Innes, as it’ll give WIP some time to come up with a suitable replacement for Bruno to partner with Innes when he returns; that is, if they give Innes a co-host at all.

Some would like this to be more than what meets the eye, but I think it’s pretty cut and dry. Every summer, sports talk radio in this city is completely different than “in-season.” Of course, I’m referring to football season. So while some might think Innes is being told to leave for a week and WIP management is reconsidering keeping him in the afternoon slot, there is absolutely no truth to that whatsoever.

And, for those who haven’t had the pleasure of listening to Macnow and McDonald together, for the most part, people loved the pair. I can’t say anything about that because I never listened to them together, but it’ll be a bit nostalgic next week on WIP.

Also, Michael Barkann is still on vacation. Rob Charry said today he’d fill in for Barkann all next week with Ike Reese.

Although I’m loyal to 97.5, back in the day growing up my pops listened down the dial. Those two were a good pair. Innes is an idiot. He’s not Philly, he wants to be Stern and half his show is not sports or bashing Mike Miss. He needs to go.

for me Mac and Mac are great, I hope they stay. I used to listen to WIP all day. But, this Innes guy I cant take. At !:00 I switch to 97.5 and only because I can’t take Innes.

hope Mac and Mac remain I will again listen all day!

This is a very nice site. Much better set up than Crossing Broad. As for Innes, I don’t listen to him anyway and don’t care but I love Jody Mac and will be listening to as much Mac and Mac as I can get this week.
