The Eagles Have Traded Brandon Boykin to the Steelers

This move is going to be a universally disliked move by Chip.

He just traded Brandon Boykin to the Steelers for a conditional pick in next year’s draft. I just don’t get it.

We’ve seen the signs of Chip being on the outs with Boykin the last two seasons. Despite making numerous plays, Boykin’s size wasn’t what Chip liked, and he never put him the position where he played the best. Boykin handled this with as much class as he could. And now he’s on a team that will probably reap a ton of rewards for trading for him.

There was a lot of divisiveness when it came to the release of DeSean Jackson and the trade of LeSean McCoy. Maybe even the releases of Trent Cole, Todd Herremans, and Evan Mathis. There’s no divisiveness here. This was a bad trade. If you look at it on the surface, it’s actually a pretty terrible trade. I know we’re not Chip and I’ll be the first to tell you he’s the man behind the team and knows so much more than we do about how he wants to operate. But getting rid of Boykin is just a stupid mistake.

And I’m probably more pissed off that they got a conditional draft pick rather than more. Boykin’s worth more than what Chip got in return. Borderline embarrassing.
