Chip Kelly finally came to grips with something that Eagles’ fans knew a long time ago. He finally accepted the fact that this mess of a season was on his shoulders. You can point to the injuries to the offensive line or you can point to Billy Davis’ shit show defense. Hell, you can point to the wide receivers not being able to catch a damn ball when it mattered (Hi Jordan Matthews) or you can blame Sam Bradford for being slow and inaccurate.
At the end of the day though, who put this disgrace of a team (players and coaches) together? You got it! It was Chip’s fault.
He was never able to bring this team together. The ghost of LeSean McCoy came back to haunt Chip. How the whole DeMarco Murray mess played out during the course of the season all points to Chip Kelly.
While I strongly believe that Chip Kelly should be fired, I know it won’t happen. My only chance of him not being here is him walking away from the team.
Kelly had this to say after the game on Saturday night via NFL.com.
“One hundred percent; it’s all on my shoulders. It’s the same thing I said a year ago. It’s unacceptable.”
If you said it a year ago, don’t you think it’s time to fix it already?
On the Washington game he continued.
“We didn’t play well enough to beat a good football team. You can’t put yourself in the hole like we did. Those two turnovers were costly for us, and then, obviously, I think drops affected us on the offensive side of the ball.”
The Eagles may have one game left in New York next week, but the season is over. It’s going to be a wild ride going forward.
