Larry Brown Thinks That He Could Fix the Sixers in Five Minutes

It’s no secret at this point that the Sixers are a mess on and off the court. Jerry Colangelo is in. Sam Hinkie could be out. Hell, even the owners may be out. The one good thing at this point is that since Colangelo stepped in, the Sixers are apparently reaching out to former NBA players in hopes of bringing a few guys in to mentor the young players.

Sam Hinkie has asked all of us to trust the process. If only there was someone that could speed up this very long process that we’re in the middle of. Oh, wait… maybe there is. Former Sixers coach, Larry Brown, spoke to Jon Marks of Sheridan Hoops and had the following to say.

“I’m sick of what’s going on there. You know I care about the Sixers. It’s an unbelievable basketball city and I had a great experience there. I don’t want to get on them when they’re struggling, but they don’t have any veteran leadership. I want to help. I could straighten it out in five minutes. I wish they’d get Allen involved. All those young kids worship him.”

Five minutes? Wow! Jerry Colangelo are you reading this? Reach out to Larry Brown now.

Brown of course coached the Sixers from 1997-2003. The best of the Brown years was in 2001 when Philadelphia played L.A. in the NBA Finals. Though the Sixers came up just a bit short in the Finals, that run was incredible. With the exception of Allen Iverson, the Sixers were a team of average players that meshed perfectly to form one cohesive unit.

Larry Brown is now the coach of SMU – who have been sanctioned by the NCAA for multiple violations, including academic fraud.
