It was almost like the Chiefs wanted to lose yesterday. Their hurry-up offense was anything but, and it brought back a lot of memories to Eagles fans from the Super Bowl, and many other games, in which Andy Reid completely mismanaged the clock during the course of a game. At least, we hope it was Andy. Because if it was Doug Pederson, then we’re in trouble.
But some players after the game, and even Andy Reid himself, were asked about Pederson coming to the Eagles as the next head coach, which hasn’t even been made official yet, and here’s what they had to say.
Andy Reid:
We’ll see how things roll here in the next couple of days.”
QB Alex Smith:
I know he interviewed for the job and you hear all the reports and this and that, obviously all unofficial. If that’s the case, I’m happy for him. He’s the real deal, a really, really good coach. He’s going to be a great head coach, if that’s the case. Just has that quality about him, that coolness, he can relate to players. I think he will be great at it.”
TE Travis Kelce:
He’s the man. We love him just as much as any coach on here. We know how important he is and how valuable he is. Obviously, I wish him the best of luck over there in Philly, and I know he’ll be a great coach. I think he’s ready for anything that anybody throws at him. That guy works harder than anybody I’ve ever seen.”
Former Eagle WR Jeremy Maclin [CSN Philly and 6abc]:
I think he understands the personalities around a locker room. I think that’s the first important step of being a head coach,” former Eagle Jeremy Maclin said, via Comcast SportsNet’s Derrick Gunn. “I’m excited about what he does in the future up there in Philly. … I think Philly should be excited.
He’s a guy who understands how things are supposed to be done. I think he’s going to do great things. I’m excited for him. He deserves it, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does up there.”

And Dougie P himself:
Caught up to Doug Pederson leaving locker room. Said no comment about #Eagles job. Then said. "We'll see you in a couple days." So, there.
