I may literally cry before the Eagles’ coaching search is over. First, it was Phil Sheridan saying that he believes the Eagles will turn to Doug Pederson as their next head coach. And now this.
Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Eagles are considering promoting from within their organization for the head coaching gig. That sounds great and all, but I can’t say that I even remotely like any of the guys that are already on our coaching staff.
Giants hiring likely part of trend to come. Titans, Eagles and Bucs all giving real consideration to promoting from within as well

Running backs coach, Duce Staley, was the first guy to get a chance to interview for the Eagles’ head coaching vacancy. Not only did Pat Shurmur have his interview for the job, but he even auditioned for the job in the Eagles’ 35-30 victory over the Giants in the last game of the season. Some of the Eagles’ players, including Sam Bradford, have gone on record saying that they’d love to see Shurmur as the permanent head coach of the team. All I know is that as of this moment it appears that there are going to be a lot of unhappy Eagles fans in the coming days.
