Adam Schefter reported earlier today that the Eagles wouldn’t place the franchise tag on Sam Bradford and were looking into the possibility of re-acquiring Nick Foles. Why the hell would the Eagles do that, you ask? Well, according to Schefter, it was Doug Pederson that had a hand in drafting him in 2012. And a trade-off of Bradford to Foles would have worked well in terms of money, reportedly. PhillyVoice’s Jimmy Kemspki says trading DeMarco Murray for Foles would work out for both teams if the Eagles didn’t want to keep Bradford (obviously, Todd Gurley would still be the Rams’ starter at running back, but any excuse for the Rams to get rid of Foles is Kempski’s main point).

However, the Daily News‘ Les Bowen spoke with a league source and pretty much debunked Schefter’s report, saying the Eagles aren’t interested in bringing Foles back nor have they decided whether to use the franchise tag on Bradford or not yet.
