Catching up with the Birds

A lot of Eagles content gets published each day, so here’s a recap of your Eagles news from this past week.

Sam Bradford joined Zach Ertz on the Philadelphia Eagles’ engagement list this offseason.

And no his new fiancee Emma Lavy did not drop the ring.

Sign her up!

It was a rather boring week along the Eagles front. No big trades, no huge acquisitions, just a couple minor moves.

Yawn.

Now onto the links in my inaugural “Catching up with the Birds” post:

Bradford was the big winner this week, congratulations on the engagement! Yes, there are pictures of Emma in there for you pervs. Smokebomb alert!

The Eagles have Bradford and Chase Daniel locked up at the quarterback position, but head coach Doug Pederson still needs a third-string quarterback. Could it be Christian Hackenberg? He impressed at his Pro Day on Thursday. Honestly, I’m not a Hackenberg fan, but I’d be fine with drafting him in the third or fourth round. There’s no such thing as having too many quarterbacks, I’d just prefer Dak Prescott.

Speaking of Daniel, I broke down his two career starts this past week. I don’t think his arm talent is the best. It’s not the strongest, it’s not the most accurate, but he’s got a little bit of that “it factor” in him. He’s going to fit the style of play. If Bradford misses time, let’s face it it’s going to happen, Daniel isn’t going to lose you games. Unlike Mark Sanchez, he doesn’t try to do too much. He’s smart and not going to turn the ball. He’s going to manage the game.

I respect the hell out of NFL Films’ Greg Cosell, he knows 100 times for football than I do, but Rodney McLeod isn’t “far off” from Seahawks star safety Earl Thomas? Really?!?! You’re going to have to prove it Rodney!

On the free-agency front, the Eagles brought back cornerback Nolan Carroll and signed deep threat Chris Givens. Carroll also opened up about his season-ending injury during his news conference to announce his one-year contract on Friday. A name to watch out for this week is defensive tackle Nick Fairley, who’s been linked to the Eagles.
