Flyers Bounce Back with a Massive Win against the Islanders

After suffering a disappointing loss over the weekend to the Penguins, the Flyers bounced back on Monday night with a 4-1 victory against the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center. The Islanders have now lost four games in a row. Nick Cousins opened the scoring up for the Flyers to give them a 1-0 lead. It only took the Islanders a minute and a half to even the score though.

However, that would be all the scoring that the Islanders did on the night. Brandon Manning would score his first NHL goal to give the Flyers the 2-1 lead and they would never look back. Here’s a look at the goal:

Additional goals by Sam Gagner and Claude Giroux sealed the deal for the Flyers who are now only one point back of the Detroit Red Wings for the last Wild Card spot in the East, and three points behind the Islanders for the third playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division.

The Flyers are back at it again tomorrow night against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Columbus at 7 pm. Meanwhile, the Red Wings also take the ice tomorrow night in Tampa Bay. Philadelphia is 35-24-12 on the season and are 11-3-2 in their past 16 games.
