The NFL Dropped the Hammer on the Chiefs for Tampering with Jeremy Maclin

Last offseason, Chip Kelly basically ignored his best wide receiver [I love taking shots at Chip now] and let him walk to Kansas City for a lot of money. Granted, it was a lot of money for a guy like Maclin, but the Eagles’ offense certainly showed they missed him during the 2015 season. But, now, the Chiefs are being disciplined by the NFL for tampering directly with Maclin during the “negotiating period.”

The NFL announced today the penalties they’ll levy on the Chiefs. Kansas City will forfeit their third-round pick this upcoming draft and a sixth-round pick next year. The team was fined $250,000, and so was Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey, respectively.

That’s some pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good hammering down by the NFL. What would be even cooler is if they sent Maclin back to the Eagles. Reid being fined is hilarious because he was probably going to spend that money on a quality control clockologist, and now he’s shit out of luck.

Sucks to suck, nerds.
