After last night’s game, which was a 4-1 loss to the Capitals, Dave Hakstol talked to the media and didn’t have many negative things to say. It’s easy to get frustrated as the Flyers are down 2-0 in the series, but Hakstol thinks the team’s playing well, and I can’t really disagree with him. Offensively, it’s just about putting the puck in the net, but the team has had many chances to do so. Steve Mason has made some huge saves, so the goal from center ice he let up last night, along with the weak wrister he let past him late in the third period, I’m willing to overlook. For now. Remember, Mason did the splits right before that center ice goal, so he might not have been 100% the rest of the game. He’ll never say that, but he was definitely hurting before that goal.
The Flyers’ offense just can’t solve Braden Holtby. And hopefully tomorrow night they’ll find a way to get the W.
