Are The Eagles Considering Trading for Josh Gordon?

Good thing Chip Kelly isn’t in Philly anymore.

Because, culture.

ESPN NFL Insider John Clayton appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic Tuesday afternoon and stated that the Philadelphia Eagles might be interested in the recently re-instated Josh Gordon if the Cleveland Browns decide to trade him.

The 25-year-old Gordon, who has been suspended twice for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, was allowed back into the NFL by commissioner Roger Goodell Monday. Gordon hasn’t played in an NFL game since December of 2014 and is  still suspended for the first four games of this season.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if we look down the landscape that a receiver pops up,” Clayton said, via NJ.com. “Let’s say for example that the Cleveland Browns want to trade Josh Gordon. What teams might be interested? Philly might be one of those teams that would consider it. You’d be getting a great talent cheap and he could fit the outside spot.”

Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman hasn’t been reluctant in bringing in players with character issues, evidenced by the draft picks of Wendell Smallwood in the fifth round and Jalen Mills in the seventh. Philadelphia is certainly in dire need of help at wide receiver. The Eagles failed to register a 1,000-yard receiver a year ago and led the NFL in drops with 37, according to Sporting Charts.

Gordon’s best season came in 2013 when he caught 87 passes for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.

Yes he is!!! Don’t think he’s getting traded, but if Clayton is right and all it would take is a low round pick, it’s a no brainer!

Utter nonsense. Why would they have hung onto him for this long just to trade him at his value’s floor? Very little separates the “media” from the nerds that call into sportstalk radio with rumors and trade ideas. Very little.
