Recap: Ben Simmons’ First Summer League Game

Tonight was the start of the next phase of the Sixers “process.” Number one pick Ben Simmons took the court in his first game as a Sixer and the kid showed us a lot of promise. His night was cut a bit short, as he was dealing with cramps. It’s the first time that he played in a game since last season. He finished the night with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. He also was perfect from the free throw line.

Here are some of the highlights from Simmons’ night:

His first two points as a Sixer came from the free throw line.

Simmons’ vision is ridiculous!

At halftime, Simmons had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

There was a nice halftime package on Simmons from the NBA Draft that aired.

And then the cramps started acting up in the second half:

Simmons should be fine going forward. The Celtics won the game 102-94 and their twitter feed took a little jab at the Sixers as well.

They’re just bitter because they thought that their “huge” signing of Al Horford was going to bring Kevin Durant to Boston. But, they played themselves.

Next up for the Sixers are the San Antonio Spurs at 5:00 pm tomorrow night.
