Catching up with the Birds

A lot of Eagles content gets published each day, so here’s a recap of your Eagles news from this past week.

Lane Johnson is really starting to piss me off.

He goes and blames the players union and claims the supplement he took was tainted. Bro, you’re a god damn wildebeest, a massive man with muscles on top of muscles. Why was there even a need to take anything?  You’ve already gotten yourself caught once, why even risk it? And even if you want to take something, why not ask a team trainer or the NFL if the supplement you want to take is allowed? Why not just lift your lead and pound a protein shake after your workout like you’re supposed to?

I don’t get it.

Now, the Philadelphia Eagles are most likely going to head into the season with kibbles and bits at tackle. I have no idea how the fragile Sam Bradford is going to make it through those 10 games.

Expect a plethora of three-step drops from head coach Doug Pederson and even less shots down the field from check-down Sammy.

On to the links:

Carson Wentz made his highly anticipated preseason debut Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and showed some flashes and you can watch all of his throws here. Check out what the national and local writers said about Wentz’s performance. Unfortunately, Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in that game against the Bucs.

Here’s Johnson’s comments Saturday about feeling let down by the NFLPA. Johnson’s agent, Ken Sarnoff, released a statement and the NFLPA responded to Johnson’s comments. A “former” Eagles fan left letters on cars at Chickie’s and Pete’s ripping Johnson. Here’s the original post of Johnson facing a 10-game suspension.

Despite the seemingly looming suspension, Pederson isn’t concerned about the offensive line and the Eagles appear to be interested in former New York Giants tackle Will Beatty.

I talked Monday about Nelson Agholor having the most to gain following Jordan Matthews’ injury. Instead, we got more of the same from Agholor on Thursday night.

Check out this video of Brent Celek going undercover as a Wawa employee. Love it!

And lastly, here’s former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles getting cut on Hard Knocks.
