UPDATE: Brown was arrested in May 2015 on a domestic violence charge. No word on if that has anything to do with the suspension.

Who says kickers aren’t real football players? They get suspended just like all of ’em.

According to multiple reports, the NFL has suspended Giants kicker Josh Brown for one game for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

Brown issued the following statement on the suspension:

“While I do not agree with the suspension, I will accept it. I have exhausted the appeals process and have no other options along those lines. I will continue to work hard for this team, and I have tremendous confidence in my teammates and in my ability to move on and contribute to the team.”

New Giants head coach Ben McAdoo issued this statement:

“We have been supportive of Josh and will continue to be, but we accept the league’s decision.”

Season over for the Giants.
