Lane Johnson’s suspension opened up a roster spot.
The Eagles had just four cornerbacks on the active roster prior to Smith being promoted and played a pair of games with just three due to Leodis McKelvin’s injury.
In other news, the Eagles also inked former Houston Texans tight end Anthony Denham to the practice squad.
