The injury bug has been feasting on the Sixers.
After losing Ben Simmons for the remainder of the 2016 calendar year, at the minimum, losing Nerlens Noel to knee surgery, and with just having Jahlil Okafor getting back into game shape, one would think that is enough to mess with the Sixers season.
It just got a bit worse.
Sources: Sixers’ Jerryd Bayless likely to miss month with wrist injury: https://t.co/VUHPc9yB7u
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) October 24, 2016
Bayless suffered a wrist injury one week ago, but it was not certain the extent or what the necessary course of action to remedy it would be. He will not have a surgery on it though.
With Bayless not due back until a few days before Thanksgiving, the already thin at point guard Sixers now move to T.J. McConnell and Sergio Rodriguez to handle the ball.
There was a lot of optimism surrounding the Sixers after the NBA draft in the summer and all through the summer league. However, one injury after another, highlighted by the crushing loss of top-pick Simmons, has put a damper on the intrigue for the Sixers this season. However, the road ahead is still bright, but it just never seems to go according to plan for Brett Brown and co.
