Predictions for Eagles-Redskins Week 14

The Washington Redskins have owned the Eagles the last two-plus years, and look to continue their dominance at The Linc on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. But did all of the Pi writers agree on what they think the outcome of the game would be? Check out our predictions below.

Ray Hagan:
I think the Eagles are going to keep it closer than they probably have any right to Sunday against the Redskins. I don’t know why I feel that way, simply because they’ve been playing so poorly. Carson Wentz has regressed to a troubling point. It’s almost as if for the first three games, he didn’t realize how bad his receivers were so he could trust them. But once the trust was broken when Nelson Agholor didn’t even try to stop Darius Slay from taking the ball in Detroit, it’s been all downhill.

The defense hasn’t stopped anyone the past three weeks and the ‘Skins are littered with offensive weapons. Still, I’m going say the Birds keep it close, but they won’t pull this one out.

Redskins 26-20.

Tony Cutillo:
Coming to grips with what has occurred so far this season is a job in itself. Not only have we seen our beloved Birds get embarrassed, but we now have a coach whose ridiculous explanations and bumbling new conferences are the basis of trending memes all over the world. Last week, we had a tough time against the JV Bengals and this week we face a familiar foe in the Redskins.

The Redskins have turned up the charge in the second half of the season as the Eagles have fallen flat. I think this game will have to be won by our running game and a stout defense. Do the Eagles quit completely or do they come hungry to prove they have a heart?

I think they win this game out of sheer desire, but as their last hope at positivity this season. It will be all hands on deck after another critical week. A win here salvages what little hope people had since their 3-0 start. One thing seems for sure, the veterans aren’t happy with the future direction of this team or their coach. However, in Week 14 I feel they get the band back together for one last hit!

Eagles 24-20.

Dave Uram:
This one comes down to talent. The Redskins sport a lot of ability on offense while the Eagles don’t. Washington has more to play for and until the Birds prove otherwise, it wouldn’t shock me if the optics of their effort stink this week, too. The biggest key over the next four weeks is to protect the daylights out of Carson Wentz and make sure he stops regressing.

Redskins 24-14.

Tyler Trumbauer:
Last week, I went against my norm this season and picked the Eagles to win. That will never happen again this season. This team looks completely lost right now from the top down. I’m not sure what to make of the spiral into disarray, but all I do know right now is that the Redskins are one-point favorites to win, as the road team, and I think they should be favored heavier.

Redskins 27-17.

Candis McLean:
The Eagles were swept by Washington last year. I would love to write some emotionally lathered up prediction based off avenging those loses, the fact that we’ll be playing at home, and the return of both Ryan Mathews and Jordan Matthews. The reality is … we’re horrible. Turn off your hype Sunday playlists, make your runs to the liquors store, and prepare for the second blowout in two weeks. Washington is playing better at almost every position across the board and they will be getting Jordan Reed back. They’re not a great team, but as we found out last week, you don’t have to be great to beat us. Hell, you don’t even have to be good.

Redskins 30-13.

Adrian Fedkiw:
The Redskins will make it five wins in a row against the Eagles on Sunday. Since its 3-0 start, Philadelphia’s 2-7 record would be the third worst in the NFL behind the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers. It’s gotten ugly fast. The team hasn’t even been competitive the last two weeks and I think it’s going to be a long and tumultuous final month of the season.

Redskins 30-20.

Sean Brace:
You want a prediction for a 5-7 ball club … here you go. The Eagles stink. Bryce Treggs and Paul Turner are on the outside? And I like Turner. Carson Wentz has nobody making plays for him. The defense has disappeared over the last six games and Jim Schwartz has lost his mojo. The Birds need a shocker to beat the ‘Skins at home but I just don’t see it. Give me Washington scoring almost 30 again.

Redskins 29-21.

Nick Piccone:
This is embarrassing. I have to pick against the Eagles because that’s the smart thing to do. But they could somehow turn it around and completely demolish the Redskins. We know nothing. The NFL is funny like that. However, Washington has owned the Eagles for the last two years. There’s no reason to think that this Eagles team, who got creamed in D.C. earlier this season, will put up a valiant effort. Kirk Cousins is going to feast on this secondary like he always does. Eagles will lose. Reverse psychology. Hope it works.

Redskins 27-20.
