The Spotlight of the Week: Valentine’s Day Countdown 

Love is in the air! Over the next few weeks, Philly Influencer will be highlighting where to take your special someone on the beloved holiday.

Bank and Bourbon: This Valentine’s Day, enjoy an evening at Bank & Bourbon with a special three-course menu prepared exclusively by Chef Joe Thomas Jr. Warm up with a Butternut Squash Soup or Raw Oysters, a classic aphrodisiac option for the special night. Then select seafood, steak or chicken options including Bank & Bourbon’s signature Roasted Lancaster Chicken or the Truffle Pappardelle. No meal is complete without dessert, guests can finish the meal with passion with the Passion Fruit Tart or a dessert selection.

Valentine’s Day at Bank & Bourbon is available for $65 per person exclusive of tax and fees. To make the night extra special, guests can say cheers with wine pairings for each course for an additional $35.

Can’t make it Thursday but still want to celebrate your loved one? Chef Joe Thomas Jr. will be featuring dinner specials throughout the entire weekend for diners to enjoy.

Sofitel Philadelphia: Liberté Lounge, one of Sofitel Philadelphia’s restaurants, will be hosting an evening of love. Chef has prepared a menu with the finest tastes of Paris. The dinner menu is pre-fixed and consists of dishes such as Hama Hama oysters, wild mushroom & foie gras feuillete, crispy duck breast, pan seared filet mignon, cheese platters, and a chocolate dessert. The dinner costs $60 per guest. An optional bottle of champagne will be offered at a special price of $45.

This Week in Cocktails: National Hot Chocolate Day

National Hot Chocolate Day is this Thursday, January 31st. Here are some of the signature spots around town to sip some worm and chocolatey goodness.

The Bar by Bluebird Distilling: The Bar at Bluebird Distilling serves up craft cocktails featuring a line-up of award-winning brown spirits, vodka, and gin, in the heart of The Bourse, Philadelphia’s new artisan food hall on Independence Mall. In celebration of the holiday, Bluebird Distilling will be pouring up Spiked Hot Chocolate ($7) made with guest’s choice of Bluebird Distilling spirit, mixed with house-made hot chocolate and warming spices all day Thursday. Guests can order lunch or dinner at neighboring vendors and enjoy a boozy hot chocolate with their meal at the Bluebird Distilling bar.

CO-OP: CO-OP The Study hotel’s bustling restaurant and lounge located on the corner of 33rd and Chestnut Sts., is combatting the polar vortex with house-made hot chocolate ($4), also available with Bailey’s and Disaronno for $10 all day on Thursday in celebration of National Hot Chocolate Day. Guests can cozy up in the dining room with a hot chocolate, paired with one of CO-OP’s hearty entrées, such as Braised Lamb Bucatini or Cast-Iron Pork Chop, for the perfect polar vortex remedy.

Urban Farmer: Urban Farmer, Philly’s modern “chic” American steakhouse, is celebrating National Hot Chocolate Day with house-made hot chocolate ($3) available all day this Thursday. As the temperature drops, guests can choose to spike their beverage for a guilt-free $5. The hot chocolate is served with an optional dollop of whipped cream and chocolate syrup for the ultimate polar vortex treat.

Drag Race Dance Party at Franky Bradley’s: Franky Bradley’s will b hosting a  Drag Race Dance Party on Thursday. There will be a DJ blasting the best music, a lip-sync battle at midnight hosted by Alyson Rodriguez-Orenstein, and performances by Lady Geisha.

Smoke Thursdays: All -new Smoke Thursdays comes to B Side Hookah Lounge. This event is free to enter before 10 pm with RSVP. This Delaware Avenue hotspot offers up great music, a trendy location, and drink specials all night long.

Adults Only Mini Golf Tournament:  Linvilla Orchards will be the place to be this Friday night. They will be hosting an adults-only indoor mini-golf tournament. Come sip on beer from Ship Bottom Brewery and seize victory. Complimentary beer drink tickets are available for teams depending on size (2-4).

Black Tie Tailgate: The 2019 Philadelphia Car Show revs up and kicks into gear this weekend. The action begins this Friday with the Black Tie Tailgate. The opening night soiree will have exclusive first looks at this year’s vehicles, cocktails, and more.

First Fridays at Vango: Vango Lounge and Sky Bar hosts First Fridays this weekend. The party is free before 10 pm with RSVP. There will be DJs, drinks specials, and the dance floor will be packed.

Puppy Yoga ‘Pup Up’: The Philadelphia Brewing Company, one of Philadelphia’s first and largest breweries, is teaming up with Morris Animal Refuge to host its first ever puppy yoga on Saturday, February 2 from 1-2 pm. Participants will enjoy a one-hour yoga class with adorable, adoptable puppies in Philadelphia Brewing Company’s second-floor tasting room, followed by a complimentary brew.

Philadelphia Winter Craft Beer & Cocktail Festival: The Philadelphia ‘Winter Warmup’ will feature three drinking sessions of winter brews and seasonal beverages this weekend. There will be 30+ breweries and 15+ specialty drinks on location. The lively event will also have food trucks, entertainment, fun activities and games, and plenty more.

The Bourse, the brand new food hall on Independence Mall, is pleased to present SWEAT + SIP, a collaboration with Sweat Fitness aimed at helping Philadelphians carry their New Years resolutions into February with a FREE month-long yoga pop-up, kicking off on Saturday, February 2. Every Saturday in February from 9-10 am, yogis will bend and stretch under the atrium in the main dining hall. After class, 21 + attendees can enjoy a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary from Grubhouse, one of The Bourse’s newly opened vendors, serving breakfast all day.
All other tickets will be available Monday at noon the week of the class.
