Daily Ticket: Week 5 XFL best bets and college basketball action

Mark Drumheller (@x_drumheller) joined Jerrold Colton for Thursday’s The Daily Ticket on Fox Sports The Gambler.  Drumheller starts a new streak as his XFL best bets have been 6-0 over the past three weeks and 7-1 on the season. He looks at a pair of 2-2 teams with the Dallas Renegades hosting the New York Guardians. Drumheller analyzes how the injury to Renegades QB Landry Jones impacts the line, and the overall outlook for the Dallas offense. Guardians QB Luis Perez gave New York’s offense some life, but will it carry over against a tough Dallas defense on their home turf?

The DC Defenders are back home after getting outscored 64-9 in two games on the road. Cardale Jones looked like an MVP candidate at Audi Field earlier this season. Can the home crowd in DC get Cardale back to his winning ways? Drumheller explains why the biggest concern for DC should be on the other side of the ball as the run-heavy Battlehawks will look to pound a Defenders defense that allowed 266 rushing yards last week.

Drumheller and Colton hit the hardwood to discuss the NBA  as the Warriors take on the Raptors. They question whether Curry’s presence can keep Golden State  competitive against a top defensive team like Toronto. They wrap up with college hoops as they look at two big home favorites in the Big Ten and Pac 12.

Today’s recap includes:

  • XFL Best Bets and understanding the home field advantage.
  • The pros and cons of Dallas losing Landry Jones.
  • Ohio State’s defense and whether Illinois has enough fight to win at Ohio State.
  • Why Cal’s road woes and Oregon’s explosive home offense create the perfect storm.

Listen to The Daily Ticket with Sean Brace on Fox Sports The Gambler every weekday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 102.5 FM, 1480 AM, 105.3 HD2, and most importantly, on the iHeartRadio app!
