Last week, the PA House of Representatives voted 193-9 to make minor changes to the liquor bill which will temporarily allow for the sale of mixed alcoholic drinks. The amendment will move to the Senate this week. Soon, you may be able to visit your favorite bars and hotspots for cocktails to-go. The cocktails cannot exceed more than 64 ounces.

Yards Brewery Deliveries 

Yards has been doing pick-up beer at the taproom on Spring Garden Street for a few weeks with tips from sales going to support those employees affected by the COVID-19 closure. Yards has now launched daily contactless home delivery for beer and select food items to select areas of the city. Orders can be placed via Yards website and then will be delivered to homes between 11:30 am-8 pm daily. All orders will be fulfilled by the next day at the latest. There is no minimum order for delivery so customers can order anything from a single can to 6-packs, 24-packs and sixtel kegs. All tips for delivery will also go to the COVID-19 Employee Relief Fund. Zipcodes eligible for pick-up are as follows: 19102, 19103, 19106, 19107, 19121, 19123, 19125, 19130, 19145, 19147 and 19148.

In addition to all of Yards classic brews, customers can also order Yards’ recently released unfiltered hazy IPA, Philthy, as well as Two Robbers Hard Seltzer. Curbside and contactless pick-up is still available at the taproom from 11:30 am-8:00 pm daily.

Cinco de Mayo with PATRÓN

Today is Cinco de Mayo! Staying indoors doesn’t mean the libations and celebrations have to stop flowing, here are some great options for your personal fiesta for today courtesy of PATRÓN and M Booth)

•  Perfect PATRÓN Margarita

1.5 oz PATRÓN Reposado

1 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Orange

.75 oz Fresh lime juice

.25 oz Simple syrup, to taste

+ Lime wheel for garnish

+ Kosher salt (optional)

MethodCombine ingredients in the cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into a salt-rimmed martini or rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

•  Cucumber-Coconut Margarita

1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver

2 oz Coconut water

.5 oz Fresh lime juice

.5 oz Simple syrup

7 Thin slices of cucumber, 3 for garnish

Method: Combine all ingredients (including 4 of the cucumber slices) in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a highball glass. Garnish with remaining 3 cucumbers.

•  PATRÓN Classic Margarita

 1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver

1 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Orange

.75 oz Fresh lime juice

.25 oz Simple syrup

+ Lime wedge for garnish

+ Kosher salt (optional)

Method: Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a rocks glass and garnish with a lime wedge. Optionally, salt half the rim of the glass with kosher salt.
