Your Monday Meal Ticket (5/10/21)

Blog Record: 90-60-2

Hey, we all knew the super heater was going to end sometime, right? A streak like that isn’t beautiful because it lasts forever, it’s beautiful because it happened (and hopefully comes back to visit again soon). This past week, we dabbled around .500 on each post. If you followed every single one, you are probably only down a few. But hey … maybe you did a great job and only picked out the winners.

New week, new us. Let’s get back in that W column with our Monday Meal Ticket!

NBA: Pacers vs. Cavaliers – 7:30 P.M. ET

I know, we just want the playoffs to be here already. This last stretch of the NBA regular season reminds me of the main problem the NBA has, and that is the regular season just doesn’t really matter to the majority of teams that are title contenders. I also don’t know if any team has benefitted from everyone forgetting about the regular season more than the Cavaliers.

They have lost 10 games straight, and have been completely blown out in most of those contests. They haven’t had a single digit loss even in their last six attempts. The Pacers haven’t been anything special, either, but really it seems like anybody can beat up on the Cavs right now, so I’m going to ride that train tonight.

Pacers are laying 9 (up from a 6.5 open) and it really just seems like Cleveland is in the middle of an avalanche which Indiana will be the beneficiary of.

Lay the 9 points with the Pacers.

NBA: Bucks vs. Spurs – 8:30 P.M. ET

The Bucks have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA in terms of wins and losses, winning six of their last seven, including multiple wins against the Brooklyn Nets. But there has been one thing missing on this streak for Milwaukee – a signature blowout victory.

The Bucks have been a great blowout team all season long, but recently they have been winning closer games. Tonight, the spread has them favored by seven points, and they should be full strength against a San Antonio team that has been one of the worst home teams all season long.

Call it a hunch, but I smell a big blowout by Giannis and company tonight.

Take the Bucks -7.

MLB: Marlins vs. Diamondbacks – 9:40 P.M. ET

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: just because a game sounds ugly doesn’t mean there is no value to be had! I admit, if gambling was not involved, I’d have little to no interests in the Fish vs. the Snakes, but thankfully we have DraftKings Sportsbook to give us some spice.

Luke Weaver is going for Arizona, and he has struggled mightily this year with an ERA over 6. For Miami, they are most likely starting Ross Detwiler who is primarily a reliever, and seem to be making this into a kitchen sink type of game (there is also a chance Jordon Holloway starts to be clear, no official lineup yet). I don’t believe in either of those two mound strategies to hold up well for either side, so I am eyeing up the over 8.5 total runs in this matchup.

Let’s watch some bad teams score runs, take over 8.5.

Bam! Three picks for you, and hopefully tomorrow we can gloat about having three winners!

Good luck to everyone and let’s get this week started off on the right foot!
