Eagles notes: Isaac Seumalo out for season, K’Von Wallace out 3-6 games

The Philadelphia Eagles have already been hampered by the injury bug through the early stages of the 2021 NFL season  and another player will be sidelined long-term.

Offensive guard Issac Seumalo has been ruled out for the rest of the season, the team announced Tuesday. Seumalo suffered a Lisfranc injury in Monday’s 41-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and will undergo season-ending foot surgery.

He joins Brandon Brooks and Jordan Mailata as the latest offensive lineman injured through three weeks this season. Nate Herbig replaced Seumalo for the remainder of Monday’s eventual loss and will likely become the starter on Nick Sirianni’s offensive line going forward.

Herbig made 12 starts in 2020 due to past injuries on the offensive line.

In addition to Seumalo’s injury, safety K’Von Wallace also left Monday’s game due to a shoulder injury. He reportedly will not need surgery and will miss roughly 3-6 games including showdowns with both the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Marcus Epps will likely take Wallace’s spot in the secondary rotation and Elijah Riley could see a promotion from the practice squad due to Wallace’s injury.

The Eagles (1-2) return to action at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs come to town.
